Worshiping Together

Aleena Korell

There are dozens of practical reasons to move our entire church under one roof. But I’m most excited to welcome our WCC children, and all those who help out with children’s ministry, into our same building – so they can know and feel their true value as a part of our church body.

Romans 12:4-5 says, “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”

I’m looking forward to the children getting the chance to be more involved in congregational worship and to know that they are a part of our church now, not just when they’re older. I’m also looking forward to the opportunity to know more of our church family, and for all of us to benefit from each other in united worship of our Savior.

We have so many fantastic members of our church that serve WCC families by serving the children. It’s also my hope that in this transition they’ll be encouraged in their service, and that others will be encouraged to join in. I’m excited to serve our church body better, but also to serve our community better and, together, reach Waukee with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16
